Live salmon will serve as guides for our visitors. They will travel through virtual environments, starting in the Cascade Mountains, leading visitors down through our river valleys, into the estuaries, out into the Salish Sea, and then back again. During their journey, guests will learn about the dramatic and critically important salmon life-cycle.
Visitors will experience a virtual ice cave as it disintegrates during glacial melting. While viewing an exhibit of fascinating live creatures – river otters, native fish and birds – the “sky” will darken as a howling storm blows in and 100-foot trees fall around you. While standing in a high mountain meadow near a pond, visitors will be shocked by the rumblings of an oncoming earthquake. The compelling tales of human habitation of the region will be interwoven throughout the exhibits.
