"Education, ecology, economy, and entertainment. We will excel at each and, in so doing, provide Bellingham with a new waterfront activity that will not only be extremely popular, but will create a legacy for generations to come."

organizational background

The Northwest Discovery Project was formed in 1992 to:

  • Present the ecology of the Salish Sea and the surroundingland masses;
  • Provide interactive educational opportunities that focus on our mountains to sea ecosystems;
  • Integrate the humanities (history, art, music, literature) with science.

Our Board of Directors includes local leaders with strong credentials in the fields of business, environmental and science education, law, architecture, government, and native affairs. We have developed many valuable connections and alliances outside our community.
